Do you talk to you? Of course not in the weird way I do, making people think I'm really crazy... (I'm not). I mean do you talk to you? I think the worst kind of silence is the one you give to you... the unanswered questions, the hidden explanations, they why's to the do's and don'ts...the you...
Doesn't it hurt? Leaving all of those questions unanswered because you're just too scared to know the truth? Or could it be that you knew all along but you just aren't brave enough to accept it?
Maybe it's for the greater good but deep inside...it hurts and you know it. You wish more than anyone to seal up the hole that bores through your very soul...well it's not like anyone ever knew because you are good aren't you? At putting up a front, keeping it together, holding tight your mask cos you know once it comes off...worst case scenario, you're gonna need to give an explanation...
Not to the girls who call you a liar, not to the boys who call you a cheat...not to anyone else who never knew who you were under that mask but to you...your very self who you lied to everyday...the you you avoided because you weren't you enough to face you...the vacuum at the bottom of your soul, your own very soul that needed saving...
Go on, don't be silent. The worst kind of silence you could ever face is the one you give to yourself. Isn't it maddening, seeing yourself in the mirror and being only able to see what's on the outside, but then your heart just won't let you be. It'll never let you be until you stop being so silent.
What about the why's to the do's and don'ts you live by? Why do you do it? Is it fun? Or maybe an escape? We're you forced, deceived and misguided? I don't know much, after all, I'm just a broken teenage girl. But I wish you would listen to you. Talk to you. The silence is tiring, but the joy of finding out who you really are behind that mask? Definitely worth it...
