I wish I was a butterfly

The silver lines in summer skies

My wings would take me everywhere but home

Cos home doesn't seem to be meant for me

I'd fly across a thousand miles

And never feel like I was lost

And when everyone stares

They would only see my beauty

No one could ever judge me by my flaws

They wouldn't even know that I have flaws

If I was hurt they'd pick me up

They would never trample on my broken wings

I would be nursed

I would be healed

Set free to start another journey

Soaring above the hills

I wish I was a butterfly

The silver lines in summer skies

I will be loved without a doubt

But wishes only go dear friend

As far as the wind blows

Until it comes back to me

I may not be a butterfly

I'm just a girl who's hurt and cried

Thought I was brave and strong and smart

But all I am is scared to fly

I'll never be... a butterfly...
